Sally Clues

In my practice, I explore themes of history, found objects, layers and collections through various forms of media. For my current work, I have been looking at mark making, and the act of recording and collecting elements of the past. I
have been exploring the idea of leaving a trace, and discovering stories that can be re-imagined through extracting and studying the marks and
impressions left by others. I have studied different types of marks, through
researching medieval graffiti (Mason’s Marks) and extracting marks from a series of notebooks and personal items that belonged to my father when
he was a teenager. Through this, I have developed a body of stand-alone works with a selection of different outcomes for an exhibition.
